Former Thorncliffe School Housing Development

Recently approved for planning and currently being constructed we designed the roads and sewers for this 30 dwelling development. This included obtaining necessary planning approvals and adoptions from Cumbria Highways and United Utilities. The site is located within a Groundwater Source Protection Zone 1 (SPZ1) and the United Utilities borehole extraction point is directly adjacent to the site. This therefore required protection measures to be built in, particularly around the drainage design to protect the aquifer from any potential contamination.
